An expanding security firm is continuing to grow after taking over another company.
Northern Security is furthering its reach in the north east after buying Allied Security in Washington, Tyne & Wear.
The Carlisle-based company already has offices in Middlesbrough, from where its team guarded Team GB footballers training for the Olympics.
Managing director Paul Hopper said: “Our overall strategy is to build the company and the regions in which we operate through growth and business acquisitions.
“This new purchase will create more business opportunities for us across the north east and allow us to interlink customers, including those in Carlisle and Cumbria, to strengthen our position across the north of England.
“In the past Allied focused on security officers but now we will be able to offer those customers an extended range of systems services including access control, intruder alarms and CCTV systems.
“This acquisition adds a number of important new customers to our portfolio and the opportunity to expand even further across the north east. It’s also secured jobs in the area with opportunities for further job creation as the business grows.
“The strategic locations of our offices and customer portfolio will give us unrivalled response times and a pool of resources to aid our expansion plans without diluting the high quality service we supply to our existing customers.
“We understand the importance of quality service delivery and believe this is best served by supplying local support.”
Northern Security has vacancies across its Cumbrian operations with job opportunities available in Carlisle, Penrith and Workington.
