A man was arrested for being drunk and disorderly following a row with his girlfriend.
Police were called to a disturbance in Orton Road in the early hours of February 15.
They found Adrian John Tomkins, 26, of Houghton Road, Carlisle, and his girlfriend arguing. The woman was allowed to leave and Tomkins told that no action would be taken if he made his own way home.
Despite the warning, Tomkins followed the woman to Udale Road.
When officers arrived the couple were having another heated argument. He became abusive and refused to leave, pushing past the officers and swearing. It was at this point that he was arrested.
Tomkins admitted the charge at Carlisle Magistrates’ Court but denied that he swore at the officers. He was fined £60 with £85 costs and a £15 victim surcharge.
