Carlisle decorating firm reassures over its future
Last updated at 12:53, Saturday, 18 August 2012
Bosses of a large painting and decorating firm insist their future is sound – despite an arm of their business being closed down.
Story Painting Group, which started in Silloth in 1974, has ceased trading but staff and assets have been absorbed into its strong performing main trading division – Story Decorating Group. The news emerged via The London Gazette, which publishes insolvency notices.
A spokesman for Story, now based at Kingstown in Carlisle, stressed it would still carry out painting contracts and that customers would not notice any change.
Managing director Rob Story said: “There won’t be any jobs lost.
“We’ve got a strong order book and are currently delivering some significant contracts across the north west.
“We’ve spoken with our key clients and everyone is comfortable with our plans for the future.
“Our other divisions, including Fire Protective Coatings UK, also have a strong outlook.”
