Kallum Lowe has taken home the Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI) Outstanding Achievers Award.

He has also won the Customer Service Apprentice of the Year prize in Volvo’s internal British awards.

Kallum, 21, said: “I was so happy to win the Volvo award but winning the IMI award against so many candidates not only from all over the country but from a range of franchises is absolutely fantastic.

“I love every aspect of the job and I pride myself on going out of my way to help customers, I think I have really found my ideal job.”

Kallum works for Lloyd Carlisle, based at Chandler Way, Parkhouse.

He is a former personal trainer and joined the company in 2012 as an apprentice.

He had previously won an internal award for his customer service abilities.

Upon completing his training, he will be a service advisor there.

Keith Graham, after sales manager, said they were “absolutely delighted” Kallum won the outstanding achievement award.

“[That] came so soon after he won Volvo’s Customer Service Apprentice of the Year, it is very well deserved,” he said.

“Our customers have a great fondness for Kallum and find him helpful and friendly, he will always go the extra mile and that’s exactly the kind of person we need on service reception.”

He added: “We have a long tradition of apprentices in the workshop but employing an apprentice front-of-house is relatively new and it’s proved to be one of the best appointments we have ever made, Kallum is an absolute asset to the business. Once he has qualified, we will definitely look to appoint another apprentice.”

Kallum said he would like to be a service manager in the future.
