Bright future for Cumbrian solar firm

A solar panel company with an office in Carlisle is reaching for the sun rather than the stars as it expands across the UK.

Solarlec, which had a £12m turnover last year, has appointed seven new energy advisors following a rise in demand for solar panels.

Three will be based in Cornwall, and four in Melton Keynes, Birmingham, South Wales and the north east.

The new advisors bring Solarlec’s sales team to a total of 26 members of staff, supported by 21 head office employees and six three-man installation teams which cover the whole UK.

Ged Rowbottom, Solarlec director, said: “We are thrilled to be able to create new jobs across the UK and continue to thrive during difficult trading periods.

“This shows that there is still a huge demand for solar and consumers are keen to start benefiting from the attractive savings and earnings on offer.

“We look forward to continuing to expand our team of highly trained and experienced energy advisors across the country.”
