Body discovered in Barrow boatyard believed to be that of 67-year-old woman from Preston area

A BODY discovered in a boatyard in Barrow has been confirmed as being that of a woman police believe to be aged around 67 and from the Preston area.

Officers today said efforts are still continuing to find her next of kin and formally identify her, but initial investigations suggest she is from Lancashire.

On Saturday, police revealed a body had been found in the boatyard in Roa Island at around 3pm.

Yesterday, a spokesman confirmed that the body was that of a woman, believed to be aged around 67.

There are no suspicious circumstances thought to be surrounding the death at this time.
