Connor Scanlon, 19, of Barrow Island, spotted the glow last night at 10.30pm as he was riding his bike. When he noticed the rare display, a few by passers who were also curious by the view, told him what it was.
Connor said: "I didn't expect to see it, I have never seen anything like that before, I could just see a glow as far as I could see, it came from nowhere."
