DO you want to know one of the best ways to develop your business during the economic downturn?
Then the in-Cumbria Research and Development seminar could be what you need.
The event will see the best of Cumbrian businesses come together for a special summit.
in-Cumbria, the business magazine produced by CN Group, the publishers of the Evening Mail, is organising the seminar which will examine how research and development can help businesses to thrive – in spite of the economic climate.
Speakers at the seminar, on December 7, include North West director of the year Peter Barton of Ulverston based Forge Europa, CN businessman of the year Mike Armstead, director of Wax Lyrical in Lindal, Mark Wilding, who created revolutionary cleaning product Lumibio, and Nigel Holmes, of Armstrong Watson, who will discuss tax credit available for R&D.
Legal expertise will be on offer from Caroline Redhead from Burnetts Solicitors on how to protect your products.
Along with expert insights the event will provide a perfect opportunity to network along with picking up some top advice from businesses who have transformed their fortunes using R&D.
If you have a product or idea that you think could really help make the difference for your company, why not book your place.
Jonathan Lee, editor and publisher of the North-West Evening Mail and in-Cumbria magazine, said: “I am delighted that we have been able to line up such superb speakers who are at the cutting edge of research and development in South Cumbria. This is an excellent opportunity to gain a rare insight into how research and development has helped them in their businesses and to pick up invaluable advice.
“Thanks to in-Cumbria partners, Invest In Cumbria, and supporters of this event Armstrong Watson and Burnetts Solicitors, attendees will also be able to gain vital financial and legal advice.
“Plus, as always at this type of event, there is an ideal chance to network with fellow entrepreneurs in South Cumbria. I would urge anyone interested in this line of business to contact Karen Whittle as soon as possible to ensure they are registered for this free event.”
The event takes place at the Abbey House Hotel, in Abbey Road, Barrow.
The seminar is free to attend but registration is essential.
To book a place contact Karen Whittle on 01229 840104 or email karen.whittle@cnmedia.co.uk by noon on Friday.
in-cumbria magazine is available now and includes interviews with two South Cumbrian men whose innovation helped Mo Farah to Olympic gold, articles on the Barrow-built Ambush submarine and a piece on the latest offshore windfarm which opened this autumn.
