Neil, who had been the ‘bookies’ favourite to win the TV show this year, will be appearing at Expo Cumbria at Rheged in Penrith on November 27.

His session – Apprenticed to the Future – will cover what motivates him and what he learned about business and people while on the Apprentice.

Mr Clough, who impressed Lord Sugar with his performance throughout the series, failed to make the final of the programme after a tough grilling over his idea for a new property website.

Lord Sugar dubbed him as the “right man with the wrong plan” but said if he’d been looking for a job candidate he’d give him a job tomorrow.

Marc Gordon, of Exposure Events, which organises the successful Expo events, said they were delighted to sign him up and confident he would inspire and motivate visitors to Expo Cumbria.

“Neil is described as focused, determined and driven by those that know him well, though his weaknesses were described as being overly competitive and very opinionated,” he said. “I think it’s fairly safe to say that the session will be one of our most popular and lively ever.”

Neil said: “I’m really looking forward to speaking at the Expos. It was an amazing and life changing experience and I really hope my talk will help motivate and inspire.”
