Another Cumbrian job centre to be closed

Cleator Moor Jobcentre is to close down in the summer.

The Department of Works and Pensions has confirmed that the centre will shut by the end of June.

Job inquiries staff will be re-located to offices in Whitehaven and Workington.

However, in Cleator Moor a service specifically for benefit claimants will be set up in the Phoenix Centre.

There will be no job losses in the shake-up.

It was announced last week that the Maryport Jobcentre office is also to shut.
