Rathbones investment management company has been unveiled as a sponsor of this year’s international Lake District summer music festival.

Based in Kendal, Rathbones will be supporting the event, in which artists from around the world perform against the backdrop of Cumbria’s inspirational landscape.

The national wealth management firm has agreed to sponsor the final concert of the festival, which takes place in Ambleside at the parish church. Performing will be the Berkeley Ensemble and will include Haydn’s string trio in G major, and Schubert's octet in F major.

The Berkeley Ensemble has built a reputation for its innovative and thought provoking performances.

Founder of the festival, Renna Kellaway MBE, said: "It is a joy to bring great artists and great music together in this beautiful part of the world.

"We greatly appreciate the sponsorship from all our corporate sponsors and are particularly delighted to welcome Rathbones whose support and encouragement is invaluable."

Stephen Quick, of Rathbones, said: "We are always keen to support events that bring something positive to the local community and the Lake District summer music festival does exactly that.

"Everyone here at Rathbones is proud to help bring excellent musicians to the area."

Rathbones was established in 1742 and also has other offices in the north west of England, including one at Levens Hall

The festival takes place on August 11.
