Cumbria is experiencing heavy downpours of rain which will be falling on already saturated ground and is likely to cause surface water flooding on minor roads across the county.
Due to the potentially high winds and wet conditions advice issued to drivers is to slow down, plan extra time for your journey and to make sure that your car is equipped to deal with deteriorating weather conditions.
There are reports of surface water flooding around the Kendal area and police have urged motorists not to drive through any water that they cannot judge the depth of.
DO NOT drive through roads that are flooded, there is a danger to your car, your life & those that have to come & rescue you when stuck!
