Industry leaders and government officials met to discuss the future of energy in the north of England.
Copeland MP Trudy Harrison joined a cross-party panel of northern MPs for a roundtable event to discuss findings and recommendations of the Northern Energy Strategy Report.
The strategy, which was launched in October last year, estimates an energy economy providing 100,000 jobs by 2050 and worth £15bn.
Mrs Harrison said: "I was pleased to speak about the future of low carbon energy generation and was delighted to welcome local representatives from the Centre of Nuclear Excellence, Britain's Energy Coast, and the Herringbone Consultancy."
For the past 15 months, the Northern Energy Taskforce has collaborated with energy sector leaders to review national and international evidence about their role in the global energy economy.
The strategy is closely aligned with the government's Industrial Strategy white paper, which recognises the importance of innovation and economic growth through new technology.
It also emphasises the need to invest in infrastructure, affordable energy, and clean growth, and the need to build on local strengths to deliver benefits across the UK.
