The Netherwood Hotel in Grange-over-Sands is now under new ownership.
The hotel had been run by the Fallowfield family for almost 50 years, having been bought in 1966, but it’s most recent owners Mike and Christine Fallowfield decided to retire in September.
The hotel has now been taken over by North of England Estates Ltd, a family run company which owns and runs two other hotels – one in Darlington and one in the Wye Valley.
The newly appointed general manager is Curt Green, who has over a decade's worth of experience in the hospitality sector.
Mr Green has previously been based in the South West, having worked as hotel manager at Bells Hotel in the Forest of Dean and as director of the Wye Valley and Forest of Dean Tourism Association.
A spokesperson said that Mr Green and his team “are already working hard to further develop the hotel towards a positive future and a special experience for guests, whilst continuing to care for this beautiful old building.
“They are dedicated to preserving the existing traditions of excellent customer service and professionalism and the hotel’s unique charm and warm family atmosphere.”
The Netherwood is a Grade II listed Victorian mansion situated in 15 acres of woodland, overlooking Morecambe Bay, and includes spa and gym facilities.
