The first public Windermere Boat Show takes place next month, after its inaugural 'private' launch last year.

The free event, from July 1 to 3, takes place at the new Ferry Nab Marina near Bowness.

There will be water and shore-based displays of new and used boats alongside marine suppliers and boat clubs from around Windermere.

The show will be the largest of its kind in the North, showcasing boats up to 40ft long.

Windermere Marina and Windermere Quays will be involved by displaying more than 150 boats.

Jason Dearden, managing director of Shepherds Marine and Windermere Marina Village, said: “I am absolutely delighted that for the first time Windermere’s boating community will be brought together in one location in what promises to be a great weekend.

“This is an opportunity for anyone to come and experience Windermere and chat to boat brokers and adventure providers about everything from kayaks to 40ft motor cruisers.”
