Industry body Cumbria Tourism has confirmed that Gill Haigh will become its new managing director. She is the director of marketing and recruitment at the University of Cumbri a and will take up her post in September.

Mrs Haigh will be the permanent replacement for Ian Stephens, who stood down this month. Jim Walker remains temporary managing director.

Carlisle-based construction company Story Homes has promoted two employees into new positions.

Tracy Calvert, who has been part of the brand department for four years, has become head of customer experience and communications. Adam Osliff is now quality assurance project manager; he has been part of the site-based production team for 13 years.

Carlisle Racecourse has appointed Helen Mackie, formerly of the Marriott hotel chain, and Lianne Morrow, who has worked for the former Hoopers department store in Carlisle, Smiths at Gretna Green Hotel and Stobart Biomass , as business development executives.

has appointed a new chairman, Penelope Mounsey-Heysham, who will succeed James Westoll from January 1 next year.

Robin Talbot has been appointed as the interim chair for Cumbria Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (CPFT) . He previously held the the former roles as chairman for Lancashire and Morecambe Community Health Council and Lancashire Primary Care Group .

Professor Talbot has also worked as a Governor at Calderstones NHS Foundation Trust . He is shortly due to retire from his current position as executive dean at the University of Cumbria where he also undertook the role of dean for the Faculty of Health, Medical Sciences and Social Care .
