Tomos Davies has joined Penrith-based Robson & Liddle, A firm of rural chartered surveyors as a graduate surveyor.

Originally from Denbighshire in North Wales, he has just graduated from Harper Adams University, in Shropshire, with a degree in rural enterprise and land management, during which he completed a one-year placement with Robson & Liddle.

The National Trust has appointed Will Cleasby as its first farming adviser for the Lake District. He will focus on building and improving relationships with its 91 tenants.

Mr Cleasby, who has spent the last 13 years at the Eden River Trust, is also an active partner in his family’s 150 acre farm near Temple Sowerby.

Will Morgan has been appointed head of business at Bristol Street Motors Vauxhall Carlisle. He was previously at from Carlisle Volkswagen, where he spent three years as brand manager.

Tony Fountain has announced he is stepping down as chairman of Sellafield Ltd to become the chair of Indian firm Essar Oil. He took up the role in April last year when Sellafield Ltd became a wholly owned subsidiary of the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA) and will leave at the end of this month.

Nigel Smith, a senior independent non-executive director with Sellafield Ltd, will cover the role in the interim until a replacement is found by the NDA.
