Train operator Northern Rail have released revised timetables that will have a major affect on services in Cumbria and North Lancashire.
Just four return services will operate on the Furness Line between Barrow and Lancaster this Friday.
No service of any kind has been offered between Morecambe and Lancaster.
The company has said it will run 40% of its services elsewhere.
Regional Director for Northern Rail Sharon Keith explained: “Being able to run 40 per cent of services, supplemented by the extra rail replacement buses, means we will be able to keep the north of England on the move on 28 April.
“Our timetables have been developed to provide services on our busiest routes, at the busiest times of day. But we expect all services to be busy and ask our customers to plan .”
Replacement bus services have been scheduled between the Lakes Line between Windermere and Oxenholme.
Members of the RMT Union have taken industrial action in dispute over driver-only trains.
The revised timetables can be viewed on Northern Rail’s website.
