Cumbrian company Partnering in Property Management (PPM) has been awarded a new multi-million pound contract with one of the county's biggest housing associations.

Impact Housing Association has signed the deal with the business - a home repairs firm which has its headquarters in Kingstown, Carlisle, as well as offices and operations in Penrith, Workington, Millom and Leeds - which will be worth up to £3m over four years.

This will see the company respond to repair requests as well as carry out "void work", which sees staff go into homes after they have been vacated to make sure they are up to standard for the incoming tenant.

The contract covers properties in Impact's 'east of Cumbria' region, which includes Carlisle, Eden, South Lakeland, Barrow and Lancaster.

PPM has previously worked with Impact at its west Cumbrian homes, in Allerdale and Copeland.

It won this new contract following a tendering process.

Gordon McGregor, the company's managing director, said: “We are looking forward to continuing and extending our partnership working with Impact Housing Association.

"Having worked with Impact for the last five years, we are delighted to be able to continue providing excellent customer service, value for money and support within the local communities.”

Impact’s executive director, Julie Monk said: “We believe PPM are well placed to deliver an effective responsive repairs and void service and look forward to strengthening our relationship and improving services to our current and future tenants.”

PPM was set up in 2002 and has clients in social housing, the wider public sector and private business. Home Group is one of the largest housing organisations in the UK and provides accommodation for more than 120,000 people.

This deal comes after the company signed a £25m, seven-year contract with housing social enterprise the Home Group earlier this year.

The area covered by this contract extends from Penrith to Millom and Barrow and covers approximately 1,500 homes. As a result of that contract the company opened its Millom depot.
