Catherine Cannon, Story Homes’ group marketing manager, has been awarded Fellow status by the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM).

This status arrived after assessments and consideration from the organisation. She has been with Carlisle-based Story Homes for 13 years.

It has been announced that BP executive Catherine Nunn is to take over as managing director of the kitchenware retailer Lakeland in 2017.

She has been responsible for running the fuel giant's 330 retail sites across the UK. She will succeed Sam Rayner, who is stepping aside to become executive chairman making her the first person outside of the Rayner family to run the business.

Law firm Napthens - which has offices in both Penrith and Kendal - has appointed David Carr as a senior associate solicitor.

He will take on a wide range of corporate work including acquisitions and disposals, restructurings and joint ventures. Mr Carr was formerly in the corporate team at Brabners in Manchester.

H&H Insurance Brokers has appointed Ryan Roberts as associate director. He will be based in Carlisle and focus on pushing and retaining new business, managing company performance and finding new market opportunities. Mr Roberts has worked for H&H for nine years.

Liz Coulthard has been appointed as branch director at insurance broker Bluefin's Penrith office.

She was formerly an account executive in the firm's Kendal branch and has more than 25 years' experience in the insurance industry.

Mike Morris has joined in-Cumbria as business development manager. Mr Morris previously spent nine years with Cumbria Chamber of Commerce in a similar role.
