A luxury bedding company which counts some of the UK's top-end hotels among its customers, has been bought out by a Cumbrian firm.

Family-run Out of Eden, which supplies the hospitality industry from its base in Kirkby Stephen, has taken over Scottish firm Dùsal which is renowned for high quality feather and down duvets, pillows, mattress toppers and protectors.

Based in Fife, Dùsal - whose name originates from the Gaelic word for nap, doze or slumber - has among its customers the famous Gleneagles Hotel well-known for its cloud-like bedding.

Out of Eden, which has been in operation for more than 30 years, employs more than 70 staff supplying the hotel, B&B and self-catering market from its base at Home Farm.

Under Out of Eden's ownership a collection from the Dùsal range will be made available to the public for the first time.

Mike Gannon, managing director for Out of Eden said: ‘’We are very proud to launch our new brand Dùsal and are excited to introduce its collection of luxury bedding products to the general public.

"This is a very exciting time, both for Out of Eden and for Dùsal. Out of Eden has long been established as a trusted supplier to the hospitality trade. Now Dùsal allows us to sell quality pillows, duvets and toppers directly to the public.’’
