It's a dream position for anyone who likes sleeping on the job.

Bed manufacturer Sealy, which has a factory at Aspatria, is advertising for a worker who loves nothing better than to snuggle down and snooze.

The role involves testing the firm’s new range of beds, pillows and duvets for 2016, as well as trying methods such as diets and lifestyles intended to induce a better night’s sleep.

The company, which employs more than 300 people in Aspatria, says the appointment forms part of its commitment towards helping the country become a nation of deeper sleepers.

Neil Robinson, Sealy’s resident sleep expert, said: “This really is the ultimate job for the person who loves to snooze.”

Applicants are asked to give a brief description of how they sleep and what type of sleeper they are.

Interviews are being held next month and Mr Robinson will make the final decision.

The testing will take place in the comfort of the successful applicant’s home, with the person involved sending Sealy the information on how they found the range.

Mr Robinson added: “While undoubtedly it is a fun position, we do view this as an important job.

“We will be using our applicant to provide valuable feedback into our products, as well as debunking sleep myths. We can’t wait to start interviewing.”

The role is for an initial three-month period, beginning on March 28.

The salary is £100 per sleep, spanning 10 sleeps.

Those taking part can be based anywhere in the UK. Applications close on February 19.
