CUMBRIA'S Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) is looking to recruit at least two new board directors from the private sector to help shape the county’s economic future.

Holders will get the chance to influence key decisions aimed at delivering growth, jobs and prosperity for Cumbria's economy.

These roles are likely to involve an overall commitment of 2-3 days per month.

George Beveridge, chairman of Cumbria LEP, said: “We are looking for outstanding individuals who are passionate about business growth and the need to seize the economic opportunities on offer for our great county. Their expertise will be crucial in providing strategic leadership, challenge, insight and support to the board."

“Experience of our strategic economic plan sectors, priorities and drivers is essential. We’re especially keen to hear from applicants in the energy, nuclear, rural and tourism industries to maintain the right balance of skills and experience on the board,” he added.
