An event aimed at helping nurture new businesses is to be held at Carlisle College next week.

The ‘Give a Day to the City’ event takes place on Thursday October 1, and is for brand new businesses who are less than 12 months old or people who are looking to go into self-employment.

The event is being organized by the ‘Carlisle Ambassadors’, the business network set up to collaborate on ways to try to make Carlisle a better place to live, work, invest and visit.

Attendees will have the chance to meet and chat with the Ambassadors, and gain some of their expertise as they share their own experiences of starting out in the business world.

The group is also offering a free mentoring service to support businesses and help them carry on developing their ideas and business plans in months to come.

Michelle Masters, project manager for the group said: “This event is a great opportunity for people and new businesses to talk to existing businesses and get their help and advice for free.

“The Carlisle Ambassadors are kindly dedicating their time to help and nurture new businesses and the free mentoring service is a great asset to guide them along the way”

The event takes place at 4pm at Carlisle College on Thursday, October 1. The register your place and see the full programme, head to: http://www.gadinspire.eventbrite.co.uk/
